Your boat is your lifeline
Run flooded avenues, cut across the harbour, and ride out open-sea storms with steep black waves, rain and a single headlight against the dark. The boat is how you get in, and how you get out.

When the Moon pulls, the night tide rises.
A first-person shooter in a drowned coastal city. A broken Moon drives the tide, the storms never really end, and something came in with the water.
Pre-alpha test footage · rain, Moon and glow are web effects
The world
The Moon broke, and its pull went wrong. The sea came for the coast, and it never went back.
Streets became canals. The lower floors went dark. A tide line climbed every wall in the city, and every night the water climbs it again.
Now the Moon decides when you can walk and when you have to swim. At low tide the city drains and opens up. When the pull comes on, the water rises fast and the deep places fill.
And the water brought company: altered things that glow cold in the dark and hunt by sound. Nobody knows what they are. Nobody agrees on why they came.
The core of the game
The tide moves while you play. A street you can walk at low tide is a canal an hour later. Drag the Moon's pull and watch the city go under.

Gameplay
Run flooded avenues, cut across the harbour, and ride out open-sea storms with steep black waves, rain and a single headlight against the dark. The boat is how you get in, and how you get out.
Pre-alpha test
Recharging shields, frag grenades and a rifle with real weight. The coldlight creatures hear engines, swimming and gunfire through the water. Stay loud and they find you. Catch them on dry ground at low tide and you have a chance.
Pre-alpha test
When the pull comes on, the water pours in through doors and windows and fills buildings room by room. The street you walked down ten minutes ago is three metres under. The way in is not always the way out.
Pre-alpha test
Search what the flood left behind: shops, flats, the old harbour. The storm hides you, and it hides them too. Read the water, watch the sky, and get back to the boat before the tide turns.
On the horizon
Planned, not built yet. Plans can change.
Media
Captured from the game during development test runs. Pre-alpha, no sound, and everything is still changing.
Development
NOCTIDE is in pre-alpha, built in Unreal Engine 5 by a solo developer. When plans change, this page will say so.
The district, the living tide, storms, the boat, swimming, flooding interiors and the first fight.
One complete mission, a hand-animated first-person rifle, and a big art pass on the city and the seafloor.
The first outside players. Join the list below to be one of them.
More creatures, more of the coast, extraction runs and PvP.
Questions
A first-person shooter about surviving a drowned coastal city. The tide is the main system: it rises and falls while you play and changes where you can go. You fight, explore, swim and drive a boat through storms.
There is no release date. NOCTIDE is in pre-alpha and being built carefully, so it could be a long road. Join the playtest list and you will hear first when there is something to play.
PC is the plan. Other platforms have not been decided.
The first focus is the core game: the tide, the boat, the fight. Extraction, PvP and co-op are planned on top of it, and they will be announced when they are real.
NOCTIDE is a solo-developed game. The first priority is a focused, playable demo. The bigger ideas on the roadmap are plans, not promises of a release date.
Not yet. Playtests will open to people on the playtest list first.
It is real gameplay, captured from the game itself during development test runs of the pre-alpha build. Some shots come from test setups, so what you see is a work in progress, not a finished scene. No mock-ups and no renders made outside the game.
